This year there are twenty-one students in the class.  Ten students are in Year One and eleven are in Year Two.  We have been studying ‘People Who Help Us’ and are looking forward to our excursion tomorrow.  We are visiting the Fire Station and the Police Station.  We are very excited about going.  I am keen to hear from any of my students.  Perhaps you could visit our blog and let me know what you enjoyed about the excursion.

By the way, have you been singing the Gumboot Song at home? I am still to be heard humming or singing the words to the song, I think my family are getting sick of hearing the tune!  However I love it.  I hope you do too.

Year 2 are currently preparing to put on a circus for the Preps and Year Ones.  We are having a lot of fun learning magic tricks, juggling, performing funny skits and whatever else we can think of that might entertain our young audience.  If you are in 2OG and you visit our blog I would really like you to comment on something that you are preparing for the circus so that others know what we are getting up to in the final weeks of term.

This week is our last week of learning about pirates. On Thursday we are having a treasure hunt! We are going to watch Treasure Island. We made a mini project on famous pirates. We learnt that Mary Read who was a pirate joined the army. We thought it was interesting that Mary was raised as a boy because her mother thought she would have a better life as a boy.
